On Saturday, 17th June our Head Girl team travelled to London to attend a very special mass of thanksgiving. The mass was a beautiful celebration of 180 years of the Society of the Sacred Heart in England and Wales. We joined friends and representatives of our Society, past and present in the Chapel of Digby Stuart College, in Roehampton.
Our Head Girl Team joined fellow Sacred Heart students from the Province to form a choir that accompanied the mass. As the sun shone through the beautiful chapel windows, Catherine Lloyd (RSCJ) took us through the history of how the society came to England. She reminded us that the mission embraced by that humble congregation of French nuns now resonates as our collective purpose, and it remains as significant today as ever, as we attend to the pressing needs of our own communities.
‘Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place all our trust in you.’
