Year 7 have been working hard in their RS lessons with Mr Brooks this week in preparation for today’s lunchtime mass; it was particularly meaningful as it coincided with Father Damien's birthday!

The mass began with a warm welcome to our guests, including governors and our Sacred Heart Sisters, who joined us in this celebration. Our bidding prayers, thoughtfully written by members of 7E, covered a range of heartfelt topics. We expressed our gratitude for the NHS, prayed for peace amidst global conflicts, and sought blessings for our community
The Gospel reading for the day was the story of the man with the withered hand, which beautifully conveyed the message of helping people to help themselves. This theme resonated deeply with our students, reminding us all of the importance of compassion and support.
The entire congregation had a special surprise for Father Damien at the conclusion of Mass. We all joined together to sing "Happy Birthday," filling the room with joy and celebration. A BIG thank you to Father Damien for spending his special day with us!
In keeping with our focus on the goal of Intellect this half term, we were sent out on a mission to find someone to be kind too. So, let us continue to let our light shine brightly, trusting in God and spreading kindness wherever we go.
