Last week, we had a special lunchtime mass organised by the talented students of Year 7. The mass, centered around the theme of remembrance, marked the beginning of our school’s Remembrance celebrations.
The students of 7R took great care in preparing bidding prayers that beautifully reflected on the importance of remembering those whose lives have been forever changed or taken by war and conflict.
At the start of the mass, we took a moment to contemplate the theme of peace. Each student wrote their hopeful intentions for future peace onto poppies, which were then presented during the offertory. These poppies later became part of a poignant reflection point in our chapel, serving as a visual reminder of our collective hopes and prayers for a peaceful future.
Following the service, we gathered together to celebrate with a pizza lunch, sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company.
This event not only honoured the past but also inspired us to look forward with hope and unity. A big thank you to Year 7R for their hard work and dedication in making this mass a memorable and heartfelt occasion.
