Here at Sacred heart, we believe that an arts-rich education is the best way to prepare young people for life beyond school: unlocking potential, contributing to health and happiness, and fostering vital skills for life and work. In keeping with this ethos, we have undertaken additional work with the Royal Shakespeare Company on their new research project, Time to Act. With funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, the RSC is working with teachers and pupils across England to assess the impact of rehearsal room techniques for improving pupils’ reading, writing, and perceptions of themselves as learners. KS3 students at Sacred Heart have benefited from classroom activities in English and Drama lessons, delivered by teachers trained by the RSC.
