A group of Year 7 & Year 8 students from SHHS represented the school at conference to celebrate women in STEM on Ada Lovelace day, 10th October. They were able to explore some interesting Maths and hear from women about their experiences of getting into STEM.
The speakers on the day were Janet Onyia (Director of Transformation and Change at Opencast Software), Emilia Ward (a Senior Value Communications Writer at RJW & Partners), Emma Henderson and Leanne Dee (Operations Managers at TSG), and Dr Lonie Sebagh who is currently training to be a Maths teacher but who has previously worked in Cybersecurity Oxford University, and as a coding instructor with Code First Girls.
The SHHS students made excellent contributions to conference, asking some brilliant questions and winning prizes in a quiz.
