Sacred Heart were pleased to welcome Freddy Naftel who delivered his talk on “anti-semitism past to present: a personal view”. As a family who survived the Holocaust Freddy shared with us his personal experiences of anti-semitism and helped pupils understand the origin of many of these stereotypes. Most importantly he opened our eyes to the continued issue of anti-semitism today and taught us to be aware of the dangers of prejudices and to always challenge and call out all forms of racism and discrimination. Pupils described the experience as eye-opening and inspirational and we are extremely grateful to Freddy for coming to visit us and helping shed-light on this issue.
