On Thursday 18th April we welcomed Nick the Chef from Cooking for Life into school to work with our Year 7 students.
His PSHCE session was targeted around Healthy Eating and understanding the need for a healthy balanced diet and the best way for our students to set themselves up for a day of learning.
Nick gave expert advice on foods and nutrition whilst demonstrating how to cook a nutritionally balanced meal, with the help of some lovely student volunteers. The dish was a Nasi Goreng, containing 6 fruit/veg, chicken, an egg, pre boiled rice, olive oil, garlic and optional extra spices. Some students from each class were able to sample a small portion this dish and all gave positive reviews.
