Our 55 newly elected Goals Ambassadors joined Mrs Mason for an induction, into the purpose and meaning of the Goals at Sacred Heart.
To explore the Sacred Heart Goals of Faith and Social Awareness for Term 1, we have explored the theme of “Angels Amongst Us.” In many religious traditions, angels are seen as protectors and guides who offer love, wisdom, and help in times of need. As we approach Advent, this idea can inspire us to reflect on how we, too, can act as “guardian angels” in our own communities.
The Goal of Social Awareness calls us to recognize and respond to the needs of others. It encourages us to develop empathy and a sense of responsibility toward those around us, especially the vulnerable. In the same way that guardian angels are believed to protect and support, we are encouraged to extend kindness, respect, and support to those in need. By listening, showing compassion, and standing up for what is right, we promote social action that uplifts others. Faith, on the other hand, reminds us of our deeper connection to each other through shared values and beliefs. It is a call to live out our beliefs in ways that bring hope, joy, and peace. When we act with kindness and respect, we reflect our faith in action, showing others that they are valued and loved.
In the lead up to the Advent season, as we create our own “guardian angels,” we can reflect on how we want to embody these Goals. Think about how you can be a guardian angel to others: maybe it’s helping a friend, showing kindness to someone who feels alone, or standing up for justice. Our Goals Ambassadors created prayerful angel which act as a symbol of our commitment to making these values real. Together, let’s strive to bring light and compassion to those around us, just as angels do.
