Harry Potter Night

The library welcomed witches, warlocks and the night bus for its annual Harry Potter Book Night on Thursday 14th November. With all of the robes, wands and ties it looked a lot like Hogwarts, so the night began with a costume parade. Students then got to show off their impressive Harry Potter knowledge in the Fiendish Potterish Quiz.

Afterwards students could choose from different activities including wand decorating and spell building.  Professor Bell’s Incredible Spells proved to be incredibly popular as students were wowed with foaming cauldrons and flames in the science lab.

Throughout the night students enjoyed the array of delicious Harry Potter inspired bakes they had brought in for the cake competition.  The winners were a golden snitch cake and sweet sorting hats.  The winners of the costume competition were the night bus, a pair of matching Ron and Harry jumpers and a very accurate Slytherin student.   The Sixth Form Ambassadors chose all of our winners for the evening and did an excellent job helping quiz teams and running activities.

It was a magical event so make sure you’re watching for next year’s invitations to Hogwarts.
