Latest Senior LitSoc looks at Swift

Following our lecture/seminar pattern, after a lecture from Mr Spraggon on Jonathan Swift, this month Julia de Cecco led the seminar session on A MODEST PROPOSAL, Swift's seminal satire.

These sessions are aimed at developing students' presentation, reasoning and debate skills. All students have to read all texts, and be ready to deliver their own interpretations; each student is responsible for leading one seminar session across the year.

Previous texts are HAMLET and THE GENERAL PROLOGUE TO THE CANTERBURY TALES. Coming up is TINTERN ABBEY and TESS OF THE D'URBERVILLES. The aim of the society is to encourage much wider reading and support applications to the highest tariff universities. The club runs for twelve months.
