This half-term we hosted our second Sacred Heart talent competition: Lip Sync Battle! The purpose of this show is to raise money for our chosen charity of the year, St Cuthbert’s Care.
The competition requires student and staff volunteers to dress up and lip synch to a song by their favourite singer or band, in front of a sold-out auditorium of 450 people. From Bruno Mars to Lady Gaga, ABBA to Beyoncé, this year we have seen it all!
Over 80 students from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 have been involved and gone head-to-head for a chance of winning our Sacred Heart Lip Synch Champions trophy. The performances have involved entertaining choreography, a rigorous rehearsal schedule, and courage and confidence on the part of all the performers involved.
Next month, we look forward to crowning the ultimate champions of Lip Sync 2024, as we host the final performance on July 15th where winners from each of the heats will battle it out! A big thank you goes out to all students and staff involved in the shows and to those who have paid to watch and support the performers.
The feedback from students is that Lip Sync is a highlight of the whole school year. Last year we were able to raise £1300 for a Sacred Heart School to be built in Kenya. We look forward to updating the Sacred Heart Network with our total funds raised this year for St Cuthbert’s Care.
