32 students from Years 7-10 have been selected to be part of the Sacred Heart Gifted and Talented Sports Programme. This cohort have been highlighted as they have been deemed to have the potential to really excel at an activity or over a range of activities in PE.
The group have taken part in two visits this academic year: in December, the students attended Momentum Gym in Gosforth and participated in a strength and conditioning training session. The girls were given exercises to complete as part of a training programme and will visit the gym again in March to evaluate their progress and development. In February, the students attended a seminar on nutrition which provided information on diet and their performance.
The girls have shown an excellent attitude and commitment to the programme so far.
