This week we welcomed Gill and Leanne, who are part of our school nursing team, into school.
They showcased a pop-up event during lunch time in which they engaged many students in discussions around the dangers associated with alcohol misuse, and underage drinking.
Alcohol awareness is a particularly important topic here in the Newcastle, with local data suggesting high incidents of alcohol related issues when compared to the rest of England. The students showed interest and maturity when discussing the impact alcohol can have on the body, mental health and other associated risks such as poor decision making.
