As part of their work experience, six of our Year 12 students went to a Psychology Services Careers Event hosted by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust at the Jubilee Theatre at St Nicholas Hospital in Gosforth.
The students, some of whom study Psychology at Sixth Form, had the opportunity to learn about the different pathways into psychological professions and the types of work psychologists and psychological therapists do in CNTW NHS Trust.
There were opportunities for the girls to develop a greater understanding of how mental health difficulties might develop and how psychological services support people in their recovery.
They also had the opportunity to hear about the experiences of service users who have accessed psychology services.
