This month Sacred Heart was awarded gold in the School Games Mark. This is a government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools can apply once a year and are graded against a set criteria relating to how they engage with School Games and create positive experiences of physical activity to support the character development of their young people.
A huge thank-you to the PE department for submitting our application and for all their commitment and hard work to achieve this Gold Award for our school. We also extend the thank-you to all of the staff and students who are involved in the brilliant extra-curricular sports clubs that we have here at Sacred Heart. If you have not been involved in games or sport at Sacred Heart this year, then make sure you take up one of the amazing opportunities on offer for next year to embody our PE department motto ‘HAHA’ to be Healthy, Active, Happy and Able!
