Year 12 Politics students welcomed Newcastle Central Member of Parliament and Shadow Minister for Science, Research and Innovation Chi Onwurah to the school this month.
Students enjoyed a special Question and Answer lesson with Ms. Onwurah, with discussion ranging across a wide range of topics, including the future direction of the Labour Party; the constituency work of MPs; the potential growth of high skilled technology jobs in the region; the tumultuous recent years in British politics, and many other issues.
The students were extremely engaged and overwhelmingly enjoyed the opportunity to speak with a democratically elected politician, who has helped to give them a greater understanding of the subject they are studying.
