We are delighted to announce that three of our talented students will perform in The Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) Garden Outdoor Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon from the 22nd to the 24th of August. Goodness Odumade (Year 8), Erin Devine (Year 8), and Angel Riconalla (Year 10) were selected for this prestigious opportunity by RSC casting director Charlie Metcalf and RSC Associate Director Paul Ainsworth.
This exciting summer performance is part of the RSC's Next Generation Act programme, which aims to nurture young talent in the performing arts. The selection process was highly competitive, and our students' inclusion is a testament to their exceptional abilities and dedication. Their journey began earlier this year when Goodness, Erin, and Angel spent four days in March in Stratford-upon-Avon undergoing intensive actor training with the RSC company. These workshops provided them with a solid foundation in professional theatre practices and prepared them for the rigorous demands of the upcoming performances.
In August, they will return to Stratford-upon-Avon for two additional weeks of training and rehearsals, further honing their skills and preparing for the showcase. Our school community is incredibly proud of their achievements and eagerly anticipates their performances. Tickets for the performances will go on sale on the 5th of July. We encourage everyone to support our students and witness their talent at the RSC's garden outdoor theatre.
Congratulations to Goodness, Erin, and Angel on this remarkable achievement!
