This year, the annual Sacred Heart Christmas Pantomime was ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and every Year group enjoyed dropping down the rabbit hole to experience the magical adventures of ‘Wonderland High School’ offered to us by Key Stage 5 students.
Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s fantastical adventure, we followed Alice as she attempted to survive this bizarre and surprising world populated by some old favourites – the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts, as well as some unexpected suitors from St Cuthbert's! Will the Mad Hatter ever get the girl? Can the Queen’s reign of terror be toppled? Will Alice ever fit in at Wonderland High and learn to embrace the madness?
The pantomime featured both Year 12 and 13 students, with Marcella Lamb as Alice; Judith Omobude as the Caterpillar; Julienne Salangsang as the Hare; Jennifer Diniz as the Mad Hatter; Callista Fleming-Beresford as the Queen of Hearts and Ava Rose Cloet as the Cheshire Cat. Matilda Adkin and Rachel Long made their directorial debuts with the production.
With the support of the amazing supporting cast and crucial tech team, this year’s pantomime was a true spectacle to behold!
