As part of A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies, Year 12 and 13 students took to Northern Stage this month to watch the sell-out performance of I, Daniel Blake.
Adapted for the stage from the critically acclaimed film directed by Ken Loach, I, Daniel Blake is a moving story of how two people come together in the face of adversity, battling the cost-of-living crisis together.
The performance, beautifully directed by Newcastle's own Mark Calvert, highlights the poverty crisis many people face. The performance was also used to fundraise for Newcastle West End Food Bank, showing how powerful theatre can be.
