
I attended a professional cookery class at the Black Friars Cookery school making a duck dish with a side of pomme Anna and some seasoned carrot batons. This experience was very helpful for me as I am interested in a career in the food industry. The chef demonstrating was insightful on talking to a group of us about how there are many different jobs and pathways in the food industry, not just being a chef. After making the dish, learning small tips and new techniques such as how to properly cook and prepare the duck breast, I got to eat my dish which was the best bit ! This experience has helped me to think about what careers I can see myself doing in the future within the food industry.
