Congratulations to the following year 7 girls who were 4th place at the City 5-a-side competition at Soccerworld in Newcastle on Wednesday 9th November: Grace Holliday-Smart, Ruby Hardy, Erin McGarry, Ghalia Kallas, Gracie-Rose Llewellin, Maisie Marshall, Evie Marshall and Heidi Crozier.
There were 7 schools in the competition. The girls missed out on qualifying for the final by 3 points. They won 3 games, winning against Dame Allans 2-0, Studio West 2-0 and Gosforth Junior Academy 5-2. They drew 0-0 with St Mary’s and lost 5-2 to Gosforth Central and 2-1 to Jesmond Park Academy.
The girls then unfortunately lost their third place match 3-0 to Gosforth Junior Academy who they had beaten in the group stage earlier. This is the first time the girls have played together since joining Sacred Heart and they showed excellent commitment and determination throughout the competition.
