SACRED HEART IS OFFICIALLY A WORLD CLASS SCHOOL!

We are pleased to announce that Sacred Heart High School has been awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark. The World Class School Award is open to schools that have been given Outstanding grading from Ofsted and requires students to complete a series of activities and audits to prove that their school is truly world class.

We are thrilled that our students’ excellence is being recognised through this award as they have worked tirelessly to showcase their achievements whilst adapting to ongoing challenges of remote and blended learning this year. Their commitment and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed, with the awarding panel stating that “it shines through how the students are excellent and dedicated life-long learners.”

In order to be given this impressive accolade, students had to complete a project working with other schools from across the country, a task which saw an increased level of challenge due to Covid restrictions that forced the entire process to take place online. The project saw three Year 13 students tasked with working collaboratively alongside two primary schools from different parts of the country to design a learning environment. Key aspects of the project included research, budgeting, health and safety assessments and then presenting the final digital model of the project. Throughout the process, the students were assessed on their ability to work together, communicate professionally and work creatively.

Once the group assessment day was completed, our final challenge was to produce a video which reflected a day in the life of a Sacred Heart student and to produce a lengthy document of evidence to showcase how we, both our staff and students, are world class.

The award is special because it officially recognises how outstanding and truly world class the students at Sacred Heart are. It is an honour to have the hard work and dedication of our entire school acknowledged in such a way and, as the awarding body succinctly concluded in their report, “it is without a doubt that Sacred Heart are World Class in every way - from their exceptional students to their award-winning teachers.”
